Students reviewed Lab Safety Rules. All classes participated in a Grade 8 Science Pre-Assessment to assess students prior knowledge of topics covered in Physical Science. The information from these assessments will be used to measure individual student improvement and will not be weighted in the class grade.

Students participated in an activity called "Scientific Summer" in which they described how they used science over their summer break. We began learning about Lab Safety. Students received a Lab Safety Rules Contract that needs to be signed and returned by 9/10 or 9/11.

All Grade 8 Science students will be completing a Science 8 Pre-Test on 9/10 or 9/11. This is not a graded assignment, but an assessment for baseline data to see where our students are when they start Physical Science.

Students need to have supplies by 9/11/12

Welcome to Physical Science!!

Welcome back to school! I hope that each of you enjoyed your summer. I look forward to working with you this year. We will be learning about Physical Science as well as reviewing science materials from 6th and 7th grade that will be included on the SOL.

Students will be bringing home a Welcome Letter that includes information about the class. Please complete and return the Parent/Student Information section. A supply list is included in this information.
